报告摘要: I present several results in calculus and mathematical analysis that people can see somehow first and prove rigorously later on.

Slopes of tangent lines to a parabola and the formula for the volume of a ball are two such results. In the second part I talk about my previous

works on subsonic fluid flows around a body in space, involving a second order partial differential equation of elliptic type.
