题目:Vanishing viscosity limit of two interacting shocks to compresssible Navier-Stokes equations

摘要:

I will first review the previous result on the vanishing viscosity limit of two interacting shocks from different families to 1D compresssible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations. Quite different from the two interacting shocks from different families to form two outgoing shocks, the two interacting shocks from the same family will develop a stronger shock in the same main family and a weaker rarefaction wave in transverse family and the wave interactions behave more singularly than the case of different families. Then I will talk about our recent result on the vanishing viscosity limit of two interacting shocks from the same family to 1D compresssible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with the precise decay rate. The talk is based on a joint work with Dr. Lin-an Li from Beijing Normal University and Prof. Dehua Wang from University of Pittsburgh.
